Alexander Flett joins The WDC as BD Manager

Alexander Flett joins the team to help develop a new pipeline of business and support the continuing growth of the company.

The WDC are delighted to welcome Alexander ‘Sandy’ Flett as the latest member of the team. Sandy, who is CSWIP 3.0 certified, joins us as our new Business Development (BD) Manager and brings with him a vast amount of experience spanning over 23 years in the Welding and Fabrication industry.

With numerous roles within Engineering from Fabricating Welder, all the way through to Project Manager, Sandy brings with him a wealth of knowledge including over 10 years commercial experience, from Field Sales Engineer, Key Account Manager, Sales Manager and Business Development (BD) Manager for a variety of prestigious organisations.

Sandy spent 4 years in his previous role as BD at Air Liquide, a world leader in industrial gases and played an instrumental role in developing and generating sales for the company, tasked with bringing in new markets to an established entity, as well as growing and managing pipeline projects for a global key client in multiple geographies. We are thrilled to have someone with enormous passion and know-how for the industry in which we work joining our team, and are excited to see Sandy transfer this valuable knowledge over to The WDC.

When asked about joining The WDC, Sandy expressed his excitement in joining a rapidly growing business and believes The WDC can offer value in the marketplace and is eager to help raise the profile of the business in his local area of Aberdeen as well as the rest of the UK.

Thanks to the experience Sandy has developed over his 23 year career, he believes he can “hit the ground running” and introduce his warm network of contacts in the industry (of which he has cultivated over many years) to The WDC and the world-class services we offer.

Sandy, when asked about the future and his reasons for joining The WDC, said:

“I am happy to be joining such a focussed team, who have a fountain of knowledge of the industry. The personnel here at The WDC are passionate about what they do and have a tremendous skill-set.

Personally, I am looking forward to developing alongside the company and witnessing the current and  future growth of The WDC. I aim to be a cognitive part of this growth and I am excited to get started”.
