RICHARD WATERSTON JOINS THE WELDING DEVELOPMENT CENTRE
Richard Waterston joins as a Welding Instructor & Welding Examiner, to support the growing UK wide demand for quality welder training and examination.
We are delighted to welcome Richard (Richie) Waterston as the latest member of The Welding Development Centre (WDC) team. Richie joins us as a Welding Instructor & Examiner and will help to support the growing demand for quality welder training services across the UK.
As a certified CSWIP Instructor, Examiner and Inspector, Richie brings a wealth of experience in the delivery of welder training having spent the last 10 years working in education.
His most recent role with Tyne Metropolitan College saw him play an instrumental role in developing and driving the growth of their welding and fabrication department and commercial revenue streams.
Peter Lyons, founder of the WDC recognises the benefit that such experience will bring to the team, saying:
“Richie’s work with apprentices and employers to improve the handling skills and process knowledge of their staff has provided him with first hand insights and understanding of the welding needs of a range of engineering businesses”.
The WDC is the only facility in the North East of England to provide consultancy, training and NDT services all under one roof and Richie joins the team at an exciting time that has seen new contract wins with Hitachi Rail and Universal Wolf. Richie also plans to further develop his welding expertise by working with the WDC team to complete his TWI Diploma in Welding Engineering.
