Sean Peatfield joins The Welding Development Centre

We are thrilled to introduce Sean Peatfield as the newest member of team WDC! Sean joins us at an exciting time as our new Welding Technologist. This blog discusses the past experiences of Sean in the industry as well as his thoughts about joining us.

Background

Sean has a strong and experienced background with an education in Chemistry, with IWT/EWT Certifications from The Welding Institute (TWI), as well as CSWIP 3.1.

Sean is looking forward to brining this expertise to The WDC.

Sean started off in Materials Testing with a UCAS ISO 17025 laboratory based in Aberdeen, eventually moving into specialising in fracture mechanics. He then became a Welding Engineer, where he gained his CSWIP and IWT/EWT Certifications, working for an ISO 17020 accredited Third-Party company providing witnessing activities across the UK.

In 2019, Sean joined AJT as a Welding Technology Manager. Having left his role at AJT earlier this year, Sean now joins us at The WDC.

Sean joins us as our new Welding Technologist. Hear the thoughts of Sean below, where he discusses his excitement on joining The WDC and what he feels he can bring to the team.

"I am very keen to work with all the guys here at The WDC and help advance our position as technical experts in the industry. It is definitely an exciting time to be joining this highly dynamic and motivated team. I've always enjoyed a challenge and love working with likeminded people who are all driven towards the same goals. I am confident I have found that here at The WDC.

All the guys here seem like a close-knit bunch and have great comradery, which makes for a fantastic working environment. I am excited for the future here at The Welding Development Centre!"

Thoughts of the team

Peter Lyons, The Managing Director here at The WDC, also expressed his excitement regarding the appointment of Sean.
